TOPIC: SCOTT ATWATER REPAIR MANUAL

SCOTT ATWATER REPAIR MANUAL 14 years 2 months ago #15592

NEW TO THIS SITE: ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND A REPAIR MANUAL/SHOP MANUAL FOR THE SCOTT ATWATER FLYING SCOTT 60 OR 75, OR JUST THE SCOTT ATWATER 60 OR 75 HP MOTOR? WERE THOSE MOTORS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME MECHANICALLY EXCEPT FOR THE HP RATING?? ANY GUIDANCE WILL BE HELPFULL. I RAN ACROSS A DORSET THAT IS PRETTY MUCH ALL INTACT WITH THE FLYING SCOTT 60 HP AND IT STILL HAS ALL THE SCOTT ATWATER/MCCULLOCH GUAGES, CONTROLS, IGNITION BOX, ETC. ALSO; WHAT WOULD SOMETHING LIKE THAT BE WORTH IN FAIR CONDITION? THE INTERIOR NEEDS REPLACED AND PROBABLY AN OVERALL PAINT JOB. TRAILER IS GOOD. I COULD POST SOME PHOTOS IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.

Manuals are available. I have scans of a condensed service manual-Intertec's Old Outboard Service Manual.

One fellow who specializes in these motors is The Scott Guy:
The Scott Guy
or The Scott Guy

I'm sure we would all like to see photos if you have them available.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY HANDY ANDY. IS THERE A PHONE NR FOR THE SCOTT GUY? I TRIED THE LINK BUT IT SAID IT IS BROKEN. OTHERWISE, I COULD PAY YOU FOR A COPY OF WHAT YOU HAVE. I HAVE SEVERAL BOATS. I'LL TRY AND GET PICS POSTED IN THE NEAR FUTURE. HOPEFULLY SOMEONE OUT THERE WILL BE ABLE TO TELL ME IF THEY ARE RARE OR IF THERE ARE MILLIONS OF THEM OUT THERE AND DON'T WASTE MY TIME. I HAVE FOUR FIBER-GLASSICS AND JUST PURCHASED AN ALUMINUM CUDDY. IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED OUT THERE, I AM GOING TO HAVE A 175 HP JOHNSON AND CONTROLS FOR SALE THAT RUNS GREAT. YEAR IS PROBABLY IN THE LATE SIXTIES EARLY SEVENTIES??? I HAVE NOT RESEARCHED THE SERIAL NR YET. I KNOW THERE'S SOMEONE OUT THERE THAT CAN IDENTIFY IT. ALSO; THE ALUMINUM CUDDY WILL GO UP FOR SALE TOO. I THINK IT'S A LONE STAR?? I'M JUST GETTING STARTED IN THE BOAT THING, SO, I'M NOT UP ON MUCH OF ANYTHING. ONCE AGAIN, I'LL TRY TO POST PICS AS SOON AS I CAN. IS IT OK TO POST PICS IN THE FORUM SECTION OR ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO BE STRICTLY IN THE FOR SALE??

I fixed the link in the above post. Another good resource is the Antique Outboard Motor Club's Ask-A-Member forum: www.AOMCI.org
