TOPIC: 1959 Texas Maid

1959 Texas Maid 13 years 2 months ago #45008

I recently purchased this boat and have not been able to find one like it online. Does anyone know if it is a Fiesta or Tahiti?

Welcome, D1. It looks like the Fiesta was a 16', and the Tahiti and 18' according to what's in the FG Library;

Have you put a tape measure to your boat yet, that may tell you which one you have? Nice looking boat, whichever it is IMO. ;)

D,
It's a Tahiti with the original optional hardtop and aftermarket windshield. Perhaps some mods to the front deck- can't tell from the picture. Originally had a front hatch in the deck that opened like French doors. I have a '61 with the original paint scheme. Fiesta only has 2 portholes and was a 16 footer.

The ones prior to '61 had small fins on the gunwales. Nice boat!

Deck door that pushes forward and folds into a padded deck seat. Windshield folds out to provide better access to deck.

Very nice Texas Maid and welcome to the group. Looked thru my literature and found no Texas Maids with that style of bow hatch. Almost like a Lonestar Medallion. The hard top was available on Tahiti 18' or Fiesta 16'.
