TOPIC: 9' Arkansas Traveler

9' Arkansas Traveler 12 years 5 months ago #62778

I just acquired my 1st boat. It is aluminum, 9' long with wooden trim on the gunwales. There is a very faded decal on the bow that reads Arkansas Traveler Airglide.... something illegible.

I have found very little info on the web, That search is what led me to this site, which is really good BTW.

If anyone has any info that would help me in restoring this little boat I would appreciate it. My first question has to do with the wood trim. It is very decayed. What wood & finish would be best to use? I am currently in the UP of Michigan, but plan on returning to Kansas if that makes a difference on wood choice.

Thanks!

There's some pretty good info on AT in the Library section here, not sure if your model is covered or not:
