TOPIC: Tilt/trim motor/pump

Tilt/trim motor/pump 12 years 7 months ago #58688

Any you good folks have a spare one of these in good condition, or know where I could get one? It is on my vintage Power Lift, and after some research (encouraged by Jim Melanson), it appears to be an old j-rude trim motor/pump. Mine works, but makes a lot of noise, and has been buggered up by a previous owner!

In the pic, it's the one on the left. I refinished both the motor/pump and the piston you see on the right. Piston works just fine.

Thanks.

Frank

Thanks Jim, but I know where to get new ones. It's the $350-500 prices that sorta scare me away! I'm looking for a good used one.

Cool, thanks Jim. I just didn't want to keep bugging you, as I know you have enough stuff going on!

oh well that solves that now doesn't it? Mine is a different unit all together. I think it is for smaller OMC outboards. Sorry I struck out Frank. I have no use for it so if anyone wants it let me know. I paid $140 for it.

No problem Jim, thanks for looking. That looks like a combined motor/pump/piston unit? That's what CWC uses for their Power lifts now, but I don't know where they source them...

Frank, find a place that services snowplows and take it in for a looksee. Many of the pumps are similar to, or the same as, plow pumps, and you might get very lucky!

Thanks Kerry, great idea. Right now I don't really know if it will lift my motor. It works but whines while working under load. So if I put this old jack plate on my boat, hook everything up and it doesn't work, it's kind of a problem. Oh well, nothing like having a classic boat on a budget!
