Cleaned the bad gas out of the fuel system, found out I had a bad power pack on the port side (two cylinders were firing weak, then not at all). All is well again, (with a little help from a few good friends,) she's ready for the GT 150, I think!?

Thanks Bob, and I sure hope so Kerry! Kinda shooting for a launch date the weekend after the 4th of July. (I won't get on the lake on holiday weekends, too risky around here.) Still have a good bit to finish up, but there's light at the end of the tunnel. (Hope it's not the train!) :)

Sounds good Mark, love the way you check for a bad cylinder.

Old school and crude method, but it works. You'll also know in a hurry if you have a bad boot on a plug wire, even with insulated pliers and heavy gloves on..... TINGLE!

My turn to brag about the day's work.

Picture 1, pressure washing the intermediate housing after removing the ball gear shaft to grease the splines.

Pictures 2 & 3, the drive after replacing the oil seal on the ball gear shaft & pressure washing drive.

Pictures 3 & 4, the boat the drive fits.

Picture 5, resealing a Merc 60 & found the water pump seal housing broken, waiting for part.

Picture 6 & 7, 09 Merc 25 4 stroke that won't pump water. Pulled tower housing & found copper water pump tube crushed. I can only assume that trapped water froze in the tower housing & crushed the tube instead of cracking the housing. Waiting for part.

Very nice of you to share a glimpse into "Jim's World", I'll bet the Sports Center is hopping about now!? (Getting ready for the beginning of boating season.) Beautiful original Glassic for sure! Glad to see you didn't "thin the heard" too much my friend. ;)

I didn't "thin the herd" at all. I won't attempt to sell one at the store, my customers want to cut the bow open & make an open bow.

Peter Switzer (Bob & Carol's son) did make an open ended offer on the Switzer Craft. I haven't decided what to do about it.

The Shell Lake hasn't been in the water since '08 or '09, I can't remember but the stickers are expired. I've decided to run it a bit this year, so that's why it's out of the shed & here instead. I just need to hang the drive, put a battery & fuel in & hope it will start.

Thought I remembered you having a couple of them in the Glassifieds here a couple years ago Jim, my apologies. (My memory is the only thing leaving me faster than my hair.) Glad to see you getting her ready for the water, at any rate!

You remember correctly, I just got no bites except for the Switzer. He (Peter Switzer) made a reasonable offer, I just have not decided to sell at this time.

This year I put the SeaRay in after skipping 2 seasons; It is sitting on my hoist in Chetek. The Shell Lake ('66) as you can see has left the shed & is now at the shop. I just need to hang the drive & fire it up. It will see limited use here in Holcombe & the Dairyland Flowage this summer. The Explorer & the other Shell Lake ('69) will stay snugly in the shed. I suppose I should run the Switzer once to get the oil flowing.
