The lower cowl is missing.Really cheap little motor and they run surprisingly good. No neutral on these, so pull and go. Built from the mid 40's to around 50ish. It is indeed a Johnson TD-20. Model number will be stamped in the cylinder block, port side, near the seam between the block and exhaust housing. They are one of the more common vintage motors, which is great for parts availability - lots of parts motors out there. Yours has the look of a parts motor. Missing grip, cowling, recoil, etc. Unless the powerhead has great compression and no wear on the center main, I'd look for another one and use this one for parts.
