Can someone tell me if you always need to go through neutral when shifting from forward to reverse?I try to remember to do that, but I just noticed I didn't in a video I posted. Also generally how far towards the front does the throttle go to WOT.Mine don't go that far. I'm used to the Johnson electramatic shifter.jim

The way the shifter is set up it is going into neutral as it goes into the other gear. Just do not change it at a high rpm.

One of the things I loved about our 1969 115 was being able to go from forward to reverse, or vice versa; with out much movement ...great when teaching someone to ski, or pulling to a dock with the tide going one way and the wind the another

Agreed at idle it can be shifted directly from forward to reverse.
With a heavy bronze prop you might want to go to nuetral first for a couple of seconds.
