Can anyone id this motor by the (bad) pic? 11 years 6 months ago #77205

Sorry about the pic, and I should have more information on it soon but can you tell me about this motor? It is supposed to be a 1968 Wards 35hp.

Not sure, but likely may not be OMC (Johnson-Evinrude). OMC-Gale made Ward SeaKing motors in earlier years... Scott/McCullough, Chrysler, (later Force) also made Ward's motors in that era... I would think some parts still available, coils, carb kits etc...Good Luck

If the motor is a 1968 Wards 35 hp it is a Chrysler for sure, and it looks like a Chrysler to me. I think Honda started selling motors in North America in the late 70's

68Glastron,

It is VERY LIKELY a 35HP Sea King by Chrysler. - the last Gale-built SeaKing OB were made in April of 1964.

yours, satx

thanks all! I did feel like it looked like an old Chrysler built motor too since it has the prolific housing.
