I've finally started going through some of my old gas tanks, starting with the old style pressure tanks. Anyone have any painting suggestions, enamel, lacquer...??? What to do, and oh yeah, what NOT to do. I'm not looking for 'fine art' just basic utility...

I've done a few, and used Duplicolor "Ford Red" for paint. If you want original decals, there right here.

for a 100% match on your paint you can buy your paint from
effenaco.com/

If you want what the factory put on the tanks and not scare of water slide decals you can buy them here in the USA from

www.americanoutboard.com/decals/remote/master_remote.htm

They take CC and Paypal at the time you make order with no currency exchange rates to have to figure and wait on

Thanks for the good info, I have used Duplicolor for other things in the past, really not bad results for rattle-can. I have seen some painted gas tanks that washed off with the first 'splash' of gas. I assume they were enamel paint, I think Duplicolor is lacquer...
