TOPIC: rectifier

rectifier 9 years 10 months ago #103581

Has anyone used these regulator/rectifiers? I am looking to replace mine in a mid 70's 50hp, it looks like it should work.

thanks

Yes,....I replace all the rectifiers with this style of regulator.
It has the rectifier built into it & it controls the voltage output of your stator to between 13.8 and 14.2vdc.
Tie the (2) reds together and connect them to the primary positive terminal on the starter solenoid.
Connect each yellow wire to each yellow stator wire.
Connect the black to a good engine ground.
Connect the gray wire to your brown tachometer 'SENDER' wire IF you have a tachometer that reads off the stator.
Ignore the gray if your brown tachometer sender wire goes to your switchbox, or you are not running a tachometer.
The $39 one on eBay is probably made in Taiwan, but I've never had an issue with them.
