Cool, never thought of that. I was interested in the jumper wire from the rectifier to the hot battery lead in the later models. Would that be something worth looking into? I'm more of a cruiser than a speed person, probably a result of OMC addiction. Back in the 50's it was the Mercs that were the fast ones. Used to go to the shell races with my high school buddies and the rudes were always the brides maids.

I just added the voltage regulator from the later models to my 400 and it worked well. my electronics liked it too. before i was putting out 17v at 4000 rpm now it is a stable 14v. I used the two lead model.

however I only paid $17 for mine.
