Filthy dirty with moss growing on it, I dragged it home and started the cleanup. Photos are after first wash and interior cleaning. Next is carpet, floor and transom removal. ,,WELCOME HOME,,, CONGRATS. Al should be a piece of cake for
you after other rescue projects.. You had good results before
with a power washer & Yellow ,wide , boat.. Will be able to drive that hull up the river , canal inland waterway to St Lawrence when you are done.

Do I feel another magazine article about this restore. ??

A few minutes work on the Holiday today and I have renamed the Starcraft "the easy out" transom. Removed the two corner plates and the transom cap, and viola, there it is. I need to undo about 30 bolts and the transom should slide right out. And more importantly, the new one slide right in. Photo later.

CONGRADS on the "new to U" tin rig. =====> That IS "a beast". - I used to own a Holiday with twin V-4 OMC OBs. - Routinely took it out to the platforms in the Gulf & never felt uncomfortable at all 25+ miles out on the salt.
Also, we took an >1000 pound female hammer from it W/O any worry that she would "join us aboard".

Yikes!! I'm thinking this needs a new floor. Of course if I ordered the 55 gallon CPES Epoxy kit at like $10,000, maybe I could save it. Or...buy a couple sheets of plywood for $100. The good news....the styrofoam floatation is dry. No weight to it at all which I was surprised to find. I can reuse a lot of it if I want to add floation back into the boat. A long morning of come alongs, trailers, chains, etc. But, the Holiday is now in the shop for the winter. It fit...but not by much. In order to get this boat in I moved 4 other boats in the process. And, found this fantastic burgee pole under a seat. The light and the pole would pay for the boat on ebay!

Note: The first couple photos are on the trailer. The next couple are after the boat was lifted off the trailer and placed on a work rack, and the trailer pulled out of the shop.

Good Deal . Is the Crosby RANGER one of the boats that got moved.??
Yes, nice staff pole.. Same type story as my son who bought a used
pop up camper in central Maine, mid Aug..When the seller was showing
how clean the bed cushions were, Lo & Behold underneath were the set of mfg
custom awning POLES.., after the seller made a AL pair two months ago.!
3) I vote to reuse the floor floation blocks as a AL hull will have more noise bouncing on a river chop.. More solid floor walking support also down the middle.

Wow Lee! You NEVER cease to amaze me. The photo of the Holiday with the "coffe with cream" colored top is my boat!! And I love the photo of the boat with the top on it. We are planning to add one to ours, and extend it back so that all 4 passengers in the main seats are covered. And then look how much is still remaining! I may go another 3-4' with a removable section.

The transom is out of the Holiday and the floor as well. A couple of floor cross braces to remove the old screws in the end of the ribs that held the floor down. The floor was bad you didn't need tools, just scooped it out. Transom pretty much the same. After removing all the bolts, it fell apart trying to get it out of the slot.

Sorry for the replicate posts. Computer is not showing the post is going, and photo not loading. Well... the photo loaded in one of three tries! Have a good day all! Surgery on my right on Firday morning, so will be out of the boat business for 6-8 weeks except for what I can accomplish with one hand.
