this lower unit from a 35hp wards sea king looks like the impeller (in very good shape) was replaced without even cleaning out the debris from the destroyed impeller (which probably was cause by the clogged water inlet tube). The birds nest looking thing is fishing line "welded" into the seal. Nasty!
Only silicone used to seal between gearcase and rest of lower unit!?
