TOPIC: Working on Engines in VA

Hi from Virginia!
I am fairly good at doing fiberglass work and such but am somewhat of a klutz with engines.

Anyone in this area good with engines? I need a mentor!

My experience on motors so far has all been service or tune-up type stuff, Ken. There were several good Merc guru's in the Atlanta area, but most are now retired. Might have to jump into the deep end with the 63 Merc 1000 project motor, we'll see how it turns out. Thank goodness we've got FG to use as a resource!

The new site features are looking great, BTW.

Well, I may have to ask my friend, Rusty the mechanic, who knows engines to help. I'm leary of working on the 1400 Merc without supervision.

These guys are on Rte. 50 in Easton MD. They've got about a 1000 outboards there of all ages and conditions. I don't know if they would work on your own motor or if they only work on the ones they already have but it's worth a shot. Good luck.
