Yeah, it was a hard decision but in the end I guess it's the right one. A gimpy hip is going to keep me from doing much boating for the near future and this boat should go to someone who can enjoy it...

I know I'll feel bad when it's gone. Heck I feel sad and I don't even have any offers on it yet!

My questions is this. I am thinking about asking $2400 OBO to start.

It's had some work, new floors and transom. Has a amateurish (at best) paint job. runs good, new trailer springs, new seats, new windshield, decent, newer tires.

Does this sound like a good starting price, or am I asking too much?

Kerry

Sounds like a fair price to me, it's much easier to come down on the price than it is to go up! Hate to see you get rid of her, I sure have "seller's remorse" about selling my GT-150. Just sayin.....

Kerry:

I agree with Mark,....the price for your G-3 sounds very fair especially since you did all that work on the floors and transom! ;)

Man, I hate to see you sell your G-3 but I understand. Kerry where do you have your G-3 listed?

Thanks!

Hi,

Actually it's not listed yet. I "entered" it in an all vehicle car show on Saturday where it took Best Boat in Show" lol!!

Of course it was also the ONLY boat in the show <grin>

Anyway, I had a for sale sign on it and there were two guys that showed some interest. Of course that often doesn't translate into cash changing hands.

I haven't even had the boat in the water this year so I told both of them I would make sure it was running right before selling it. That's this weeks project. Got it started easily Sunday on the muffs so it should be ok.

The first guy that showed interest has emailed twice so far, asking questions so maybe he is serious. The problem is.. he is kind of a big guy and there isn't a lot of clearance under the steering wheel. I'm not so sure he can get in... (or get back out!)

Kerry:

Thanks for your reply and CONGRATULATIONS on receiving "Best Boat In Show!"
Our 1960 G-3 got that award two years ago at an antique boat show in Wilmington, N.C.

You have a nice looking G-3 Sir and whoever buys it will surely have a good reliable "classic" boat.

BTW,...is that the original windshield on your G-3? Also, I was looking at your boat registration number and was wondering if you are located in N.C.?

Thanks!

Hi,

Remember she won Best Boat as the ONLY boat in a 400 vehicle car show! hehehe.

The boat (and I) are located in Michigan. The windshield is not original. That is a 'replacement' fabricated by Edston Plastics in Romulas, Michigan.

I took the boat out a couple times in August.... now I'm not so sure I want to sell it..... (Lets see, it costs me about $400.00 in storage fees. That comes to $200.00 per ride this Summer....Hmmm)

P.S. A short, little video of my G3 running on the lake... photography sucks and no other boat to shoot it from so....

I would be keeping that boat and not letting go. Video on you tube looked great , what kind of prop have you got on it? Just finished power washing a well used 65 G3 that is going in the garage for restoration this winter .

I can tell you're on the fence about selling it Kerry, and after watching your great video I have two suggestions;
1 - DON'T sell it, you are going to regret it when she's gone.
2 - If you do decide to sell it anyway, raise the price by at least $1000. That way you'll have some money to buy libations the help you forget that you shouldn't have sold her!

Great video clip. Thanks for posting.
Would you mind posting more pictures of the windshield?
From the side, etc.
Also, how much did the windshield cost?
Was it a one off custom requested by you, or one they commonly stock?
If you don't want to post the cost of the windshield, please send me a PM.
Thanks,
Doc Frankenmerc
