TOPIC: V-drive g3

I'm new to this group and am just looking for a little insight or info on a boat I just aquired. I came into a boat the previous owner says is a 1959 glasspar g3.I've seen some of these boats before but all had small outboards on them but the one I have has a 401 Buick nailhead V8 with cassle v-drive. Never seen anything so small with such a big engine I was compelled to make a deal with previous owner who knew very little about it other than it scared the crap out of him that's how it ended up under a tarp in his shedd.I'll post a couple pics if anyone has any knowledge of this boat I would sure Apreciated it thx.

From what area did you find this boat?
The following three boats may be of interest.
The b&w pic is quite old and I seem to recall it was done in the late 60s or early 70s. I may have more info on this boat but must dig through my references.

The blue one with a surface drive I believe is in Canada. I am not sure if it is a V8 or V6

This third one is a beautiful installation and custom finish, lives in Florida and was done not long ago. You will see other pics of this in this G3 forum if you scroll back.

Holy crap that's my boat. Where did you get these pics

That is my boat except now the wheel and controls have been moved to the other side and there is an aluminum cover over the back of the transom.
