TOPIC: Up date on Mike

Good afternoon all. Mike is much better. Still out of it from the pain meds but he says he is feeling much better and his foot no longer hurts. lol Still has his sense of humor. He may get to come home either tomorrow or Thursday. I'm hoping for Thurs so his boys and I can finish moving things around so he has better access to things. He is doing a lot of sleeping. They had him standing with a walker this morning but didn't try walking him yet. They need to do that before they send him home. And here when I retired I thought I was through with nursing. I guess that is what I get for thinking. lol I'm sure the first thing he does when he gets home is get on line to post a note to all of you. And Jim thank you for posting my message. Mikes son found the site for me this afternoon so I could get on. You all take care and if anything changes I will let you know.

Thank you SO much for the update Sue. Mike has been in all our prayers, and I know this leg thing has been a long tough road. It is so great to hear things went well, and that Mike was able just to stand so soon. Won't be long he'll be tearing around.

Thanks for the update Sue, and I was honored to post the message for you yesterday! Tell Mike we all say hello and have him in our prayers for a fast recovery.

And yes, he is still Mike if he said "my foot dont hurt anymore!"

I think it's awesome you cared enough about his pals here to give us the update Sue, thank you very much. Many of us have had Mike in our thoughts and prayers, so glad to hear he is doing well. Sue, It seems that Mike has Great support at home. That is hugely helpful. Good luck to you both for a speedy recovery and say "Hi" to Mike for all of us.

Yes It's me and I'm home. As far as the PT goes The doc gave me some stuff to do for now. And as soon as the pain let up some he will be giving me some more. It only been 3 days . Dont have any reak fantom pains yet. Have enough real pain that I don't need anymore. For some stange reason I'm not having as much pain as I thought I would but hurting for sure. What is real funny is I can still feel the foot. Well better get off here my mind is not working to good from the pain pills

My knee surgery is tomorrow morning at 9:15 am EST. I will be home mid afternoon after I wake up and "recover"!

Good to see yer back home and back amungus Mike. Take it easy, and let us know how things go. The oxygen is just temporary right?

What's going on with the knee, savage ii? I've had ripped medial meniscus's on both my knees that required surgery because I couldn't straighten thew leg out. Both instances were arthroscopic, and in both cases I was walking some the day of surgery.

Torn miniscus for me too. Surgery went well today and I came home late afternoon and the doc has me walking on it also. That hurts, but he recommended that as well as elevation and ice.
