TOPIC: For the OMC Guy's!!!!

Still no time to work on the boat- but always time to scour the internet for deals. Not as good as the complete and original 1500xs I just picked up, but these are a cool compliment in the garage!

A matching pair of freshwater 1968 55hp Evinrude Triumphs, 15 inch motors! They came off a Powercat and are as clean as a whistle.

When those came out they had " thin walled " piston skirts and many failed.--They end up with a piece jamming between the rod and the block, resulting in a hole in the block.

Dad had one on his wood 16' Cruisers. I thought it was one strong pulling monster. I loved the 3 cyl. If I ever get a G3, you can bet what will be on it. Dad was looking for 55-75 triple again this past year for his Lyman. Do you know how hard it is to find a 15" triple! he gave up and is running a 65hp V4.

..Dave.: I believe there is / was a APBA race class that can use the OMC triples, so very little supply in public ads... There is a neighborhood kid that asked me Friday to install ign switch in his control box.. Smaller bass boat, BUT 2 yrs ago tried to buy his mota,, late 70's 70hp ,shorty , Trim & tilt. !!

I have no idea what I am going to do with them...just couldn't pass up the deal. Since I already have a bunch of inlines I am not really looking to trade...at this time! Unless, of course, there is a J stamped somewhere on the block !!!
