TOPIC: help with g-3 build date

hello
i have a g3 that was my mothers and have no idea what the date of the boat is, she told me it was a 59, but the title said 61
then to add the confusion the metal identification tags has the following "G3A1158"
any help would be great

Welcome and nice boat. According to what I have learned from this site over the last few weeks, that tag would indicate that the boat was the 158th boat produced in Santa Ana in 1961. I'm sure the vets on here will chime in shortly to confirm.

Does the boat need any work? It looks like it is in nice shape from the pictures, but sometimes they don't tell the whole story.

thanks for the reply yeah the 61 makes more since to me , boat the is in great shape from what i can see, it has been in storage for the last 7 years, trailer was redone and the boat was running when put up, she told me she bought it from the original owner out of Californian 12 years ago , was on Bass lake for most of its life it might be up for sale soon so all the info i can get will help! thanks again
