TOPIC: Windshield

Hey All,
Up until now I had the boat under a tent structure but due to the recent storms the tent collapsed under two feet of snow. The only damage was to the windshield which was hit by the metal pipes acting as a skeleton for the structure. Does anyone know where I could find a replacement windshield?

It is going to be hard to find a replacement windshield that fits
exactly like the original. However, there is one company out of
Romulus, Michigan by the name of "Edston Plastics" that can make a
close reproduction for you. Here is a link off of another website

For your information, I have heard "mixed" opinions about how their new windshields fit. Some G-3 Owners like them, some don't.
I think our own Dean Lofall recently ordered from them and was not entirely pleased with the way the windshield fit.

As John says, I have an Edston windshield for my G3, its new, never been installed. I would sell it to you at cost. PM me if you have questions about it.

If your windshield is broke, and is a stock windshield... I would be very interested in buying it from you! In fact, I would be very much interested in horse-trading your broken windshield for my new Edston shield, and I would make you a smok'n good deal. I would like to use an actual G3 windshield as a pattern to make one at a local plastics shop here.

I have not seen the dimensions for the center deck. A lot of members have made their own windshields. Right now on this site under main forum there is an article about making a new windshield. The author of the post is Andrew Gott who owns several different boats and a G3 or two. There is also another article somewhere in the forum archives here on Fiberglassics about making a windshield oven. I have tried to find that article for a couple of months now to no avail. I belive the original windshield was Taylor manufacturing. They no longer make windshields but there maybe a marina over yur way that might have the older windshields in stock. Edston Plastics mentioned by John is another source.
