There are 3 in the barn I have been going to and just wondered what they are worth 1. if they run, 2. if they are just parted.
Seems with the 4 cycle they probably all run.
Also how do you hook these to a control, do they have their own?
can you use any throttle gear shift control?
is there a special gas hookup like a Merc?
is there a separate oil tank with it's own tank or is it built in?
Thanks,
Don't know much about these but I am liking what I hear.

Not enough info to value them, without compression testing them and checking for water in gearcase or knowing if they have missing parts like controls or tilt lock broken, not much. They weigh about 240lbs.
If they are in good condition needing carb kits/fuel pump/ignition tune up, valve clearance checked, new fluids, up to you how much a good running four stroke is worth. For boats 17' or less they are a very nice motor, no smoke, sip fuel, simple to service.
Ask Dick how much fuel he burns in an 8 hour fishing day or search it on here.

They came with their own sidemount or binnacle mount controls
can you use any throttle gear shift control?
If the controls use 33C cables you can use them if you rig your own ignition switch. I have controls.

quick release like Chrysler, go to walmart and convert the fittings to whatever tanks you are running.

Oil tank for what? These are four stroke. The engine oil is in the upper leg, dipstick on port side.

Thanks for the info Bill, just looking for the downside if they all turn into parts engines, what the parts would be worth.
I didn't see any controls, what do you sell a control for?

What part of the country are they located in? I'm always looking for another running motor (I have plenty of parts), but shipping costs may be pretty high.

Driller,

WELCOME ABOARD. = Fwiw, all of the Homelite OB that I seem to find are either up by the CDN border or on the left or right coasts & shipping the OB here to south TX often costs more than the OB is worth.
(In one case, I found a matched pair of 1966 Homelite 55 motors in upper WI. - The cheapest shipping that I could find for the pair was nearly 1,000.oo, plus a "crating fee".)

yours, satx

They are in Washington State, I'm sure shipping is pricy

I picked up three in Washington that look just like those... they have turned out to be all but worthless, other than as a life sized learning tool. Mine were painted just like those, so somebody up here was running a fleet of them...

All three of mine were a mystery, but upon inspection, they'd been under water, frozen, dropped, and otherwise thoroughly abused, so look those over close. I'd possibly be interested in the Homelite Hood if you turn to parting them out.
