I have some question about my bearcat, F block, specifically about water/fuel in the oil. Have an electric fuel pump so thats not the problem but I don't see a post in the last year on this forum. Is there a better place to get some help?

I guess it kind of died off. I still have my fleet of them although the one I've been using for years needs a major tuneup. Time to put my F block on and get some hours on it.

The only way for fuel to get in your oil would be if one of the carburetors was dumping raw fuel into the cylinder and running past the rings.

Thanks. My truck mechanic didn't think it was water as it smelled of old fuel but it must be water and out side of the seal between the engine and oil sump I don't know where it would be coming from, so I'll try resealing it there. thanks again

Bottom line is nope. But any engine mechanic worth his oats should be able to make a diagnosis. Doing a house call.

Hi Dwight,
Your query came out of the blue. This always was a limited Homelite / Bearcat forum by the fact these outboads have not been in production since 1972. I suspect lots of owners are deceased. There was a outboard salvage business in Minnesota claiming to have quite a few engines. There was a old fart in Redding Ca. rebuilding Bearcats. They used to show up on ebay often and craigslist, which is how I came by most of my Homelites. There has to be tons of them out there.
I picked up my forth Homelite in Northern Wisconsin 8 years ago from a craigslisting. Broaden your search to above the Mason-Dixon Line.

Good luck,
Yanky Tom from Rubicon

Don't think about using these engines in salt water. It is what killed the first 4 stroke outboard, when tried by ocean fishermen.
Some part resources.

These guys have been repurposing the must improved Homelite / Bearcat engines.

Dwight, have you searched the archives here? Also Google Boston Whaler Bearcat 55.
If I recall correctly there is a guy on the West coast that bought up a lot of N.O.S.
