TOPIC: Power Tilt, CMC

Here's pics of how one of my customers adapted a CMC tilt/trim unit for use with his Bearcat 55.
In these pics he's using a 20" shaft motor on a 15" transom.

I have done it using wood spacer blocks fabricated onsite when I ran both Bearcat 55 or Bearcat 85 outboards on my Skagit 20.
In my case I've been using a 20" shaft motor on a 20" transom.
I have also used a Panther tilt/trim bracket in the past, and also a CMC bracket. Either will work. I have not used a Powertran. Yet.

Thats my boat!! I have since changed the long leg to that short leg I purchased from you. This allowed me to lower the height of the motor a few inches. The boat is way more stable now, gets up on plane quickly. I have got it up to around 25 mph @ 4700 rpm (I am at 3500'asl).
That tilt and trim is the best piece I bought for the boat. It is so much easier beaching and bringing out of the water.

My next goal for my pontoon is adding a CMC trim and tilt unit.

The 1966 Homelite I run on my Boston Whaler had the original engine bracket swapped for a Chrysler TnT engine mount. If a person didn't know better they wuld think it is OEM.

Sounds interesting, pictures? which Chrysler model?

The Chysler model the TnT came from? The guy I bought it from didn't say.

This is very interesting to me as well as its most of the reason I don't beach mine. Just to heavy with a bad back to lift up out of the water.

I have to admit after John Nelson and myself went though my Bearcat, she ran better than it ever has...

This 17 Unflite got up to 27mph on the GPS and I was about 4500rpms.
I was just afraid to push it much harder.

I have a cmc tilt trim on my Sea Ray under a 50hp Johnson, its been the best money spent for my antique boat so far!

Joe, I have the CMC on my 16ft Skagit with 100HP Johnson. I really like it. I don't think I would be interested in a boat without power trim. Great for beaching and great for helping the boat to ride better in all kinds of water. If you ever are up LaConner way come and look at it. Clint

Good excuse for me to get up that way some time..

I seen those CMC setups but will have to fix up something and get it sold to finance one of those critters.
Looks Way slick and I would bet this Bearcat is not too much different in weight as your Johnson..

Seriously considering one of these!

They are nice, and very heavy duty almost overkill.
I've used CMC and Panther.
You have to do some onsite fab to fit the unusually wide Bearcat transom clamp assy to the tilt unit.
I would also check the other makes if doing it again, www.powrtran.com/ etc etc.
I have a brand new CMC in the box downstairs.
