I hung a 1963 Homelite on a 1956 Tomahawk Rocket a few years ago. It always had a cavitation problem. She would cavitate at top RPM and in aggressive turns. I adjusted the motor trim, I changed props, I looked for a hook in the bottom, I tried cupped props, I tried everything I could think of and few things I couldn't think of. Then one day this winter I discovered the answer! I was reading through all the service bulletins that were issued for the Homelite/Bearcat motor series (I have them all) and came across the bulletin shown in the photo. In short it says keep the ram tube open to keep a supply of water to the lower drain holes. Well mine indeed was plugged. I broke it down, cleaned it up and put it back on the water BINGO it works just like it it suppose to. Problem solved!!!!

Greg,

I am putting a 67 Homelite 55 back into service after 25 years in storage. Where can I get my hands on the Homelite/bearcat service bulletins?
