I picked up some oil supplement from a friend that works at a NAPA store. It has Zinc in it. Suppose to be good for older motors with solid lifters. Suppose to help with camshaft and valve train wear.
I'm using it. The price was right. B)

My opinion, wise choice. I hope it has enough zinc in it. You should have 1150 ppm of zinc in your oil. ZDDP as it is known is an anti-wear compound that leaves a coating on your engine parts for cold startups giving you protection before oil pressure is built up. It has been an additive in oil for decades. It's been decreased in modern oils because it harms catalytic converters. Modern engines have roller rockers, lifters, or whatever to get by with less ZDDP, your older engines like the Homelite are scraping a flat metal surface with the cam lobe. I've read the break-in procedures for new flat tappet camshafts, forty years ago I never had to do what they are saying to do now on an old small block Chevy. I stay away from anything that says "energy conserving". I run Delo 400 30W in my Bearcat's, even then because the newer diesel engines are using catalytic converters you have to watch what you buy. You can read all day on the internet the pros and cons about zinc content in modern oil and it's effect on older flat tappet engines. I consider having enough ZDDP in my oil in an older engine cheap insurance.

4stroke,
It says to use 20% in the crankcase. I couldn't find anything on the bottle of of the ppm. Just says ZDDP oil additive.
Happy motoring.
