So all the Homelite/Bearcats must be running perfect?

I had to take a powerhead out of service last weekend, it started smoking and using oil. Replaced it with one I bought last year but had never fired. It runs really well. Some minor repairs had to be done, the block drain hole was rotted and rectifier stud broken. At startup, some leakage at the freeze plugs and fuel pump (oil leak).
All has been repaired and it's ready for trials this week. One other thing that will need attention (soon) will be a valve adjustment.

I have been down with a torn calf muscle for two weeks, but getting better.
Been playing with my Dorsett a bit.

I should be picking up a mother load of parts soon, along with a few running motors and powerheads. Been keeping an eye out for a Farallon to mount twin 55's on. That would make a nice beachcruiser with shallow draft here on my tideflats, and the Homelite 55 would be sweet on fuel and no smoke. Would mount them on CMC tilt brackets of course.

Mine has been sitting in storage and dont look like I will get to it this year
3 weeks ago I had surgery and they took my right leg at the knee. Can't think of anything that heavy till I get a new leg.

When I was a kid there was a boat just down the lake from us with a Homelite outboard. We would drive by it and every time my dad would say in almost disbelief, "that motor is 4 cycle".

That still happens today, one of my friend keeps telling his son who is a marine mechanic about them with that same "almost disbelief". In the three years now of running these I've only had one person who knew what it was.

Mike and Bill, hope the healing goes quickly. Mike, I was in your neighborhood a few weeks ago. My son and I rode to Gardnerville, NV. Long ride, 14 hrs on the seat one way. Did you get any smoke up your way from the Ray May fire? I was staying about 6 miles away from it.

Yes we got some of the smoke from that fire but not bad. Its been almost 4 week and the leg is healed. I'm raedy to start work on getting my new leg now. The wheel chair and walker are getting tiresome need 2 legs. I get the bear cat running i can use it on my G3 and the 57 EnduraCraft also have a Stinger for the G3.

Hey Pathfinderz1,
Did you get a parrot yet?
I figure getting a leg is first on the list.
My Homelite is getting a little lame.
So I think will mount the 1970 Bearcat on the pontoon and put the 62 Homelite on my 62 Lone Star Fleetwood.
Going to sell the Merc 700 FGS. Needs some lower unit work and ignition work .
