Hope to swap out the 62 Homelite for the 70 Bearcat I picked up last spring.
It seems to be "fresher than the Homelite.
It will go on my 20' pontoon.
I believe the Homelite power head needs to be gone through.
Plus the lower is leaking.
After getting the Homelite redone I will put it on one of my "Rat Rods".

It will be interesting to hear how it runs. That engine looks very clean like it hasn't many hours on it.

I've got to tear down the one I ran last summer and go through it. I guess it's my next project. ;)

The big pontoon will be 4 stroke powered again in 2012. Sure is a nice looking Bearcat you picked up.
Might be easiest to swap in a good powerhead on the 62, give me ring when you start thinking of rebuilding her.
How deep is the snow out there??

Not much snow around me. The Mich lakeshore is getting the most of it.
Other than replacing the fuel lines and fuel pump gasket. I don't think it will take much to get this Bearcat going.
But can't judge a book by its cover lol.

Maybe so, but it does look well cared for, or little used. (At least that's a good start, right!?) Best of luck with it Dave. ;)

Right Mark,
The oil was clean and so was the lower. No heavy corrosion on the metal.
The above photos were taken last April right after I picked it up. Didn't even clean it yet. Came with controls too.
Since I have the Old style controls from the Homelite rigged on the pontoon, I hope to use them. The newer style does not have the warning horn. Just a light and key ignition that mounts to the dash. B)
