TOPIC: It's Dead again

Well it started off okay but on third time out it started smoking pretty bad, reminded me of a two stroke but worse!
Second time around and basically the same result. Not sure what to think. I have some ideas but will have to do some investigating. So we have the old reliable '65 Homelite installed. I changed out the transom bracket so I could have a working tilt lock, put the pertronix on, replaced a bad seal in the lower unit and changed out the drive shaft with one with a nice smooth area for this seal to ride. Fired it off, runs great as it always has. This is one of the cleanest ones I've bought and don't think it has a lot of hrs on it.

I'm not having a whole lot of luck this year This engine ran great a year ago and still does today. This one does not pee water at idle and the manual states this. The tell tale is up high on the block and it does cool but doesn't pass enough water to flow from the tell tale until just above idle. This is the water pump with the two tubes attached. Never had a problem with it heating up until today. Fishing trip was cut short, I know now the hot light is working properly. I had replaced the impeller with one of the blue Globe impellers. Pulled the lower unit and then the water pump. Some of the impeller blades were bent in the opposite direction, CRAP! Remedied this and ran it, seems okay now. Going to do a little more testing and then maybe next weekend everything will go as planned
