TOPIC: pertronix 1545 help

hooking up a pertronix 1545 to my homelite hooks positive and negtive to coil and only why it stays running is if I hold key in start position. let go of key and it turns off i was wondering if the orange wire on the pilot light fell off or Do Ineed to add a wire somewhere.

You've lost power somewhere to the orange wire. Check the voltage at the orange wire @ the terminal block with the key on, if you have voltage there then it's from there through the resistor wire to the coil. You should have three wires that hookup to the plus side of the coil, the red wire from the Pertronix, a blue wire from the solenoid and the resistor wire from the orange terminal block connection.
