Hello, I have a 1956 Johnson Sea Horse 30 HP outbard motor that I removed the screw to drain the lower gear case that I am unable to reinstall. Any ideas?

You most likely removed the screw that holds the shifter in place and it moved on you.

You can try laying the motor on its side and fishing around with a probe to get things lined up....if not you will have to disassemble the LU

joe, welcome aboard. and is the gasket still on the plug or is it stuck on the lower unit? sometimes the gasket will stick on the housing and will needed to be removed then put on the plug. just one of the problems that I have run into. greg
