picked up a '59 3hp Johnson JW-15, and an earlier Evinrude 3hp #4423, ('47-'51). Both probably parts motors...Then I spotted an old Fiber Glass 15-16' SeaRay with a V-4, Evinrude, really rough shape, with 2 old empty cans of starting fluid lying in the bottom of the boat and weeds growing out of the carpet, the starter was missing...So I get the scenario, 'it wouldn't start, so they sprayed 2 cans of ether down it while cranking, and burnt the starter out'... Scary stuff. But I turned the flywheel by hand... so what the heck, I got the boat, motor & trailer for $100...

The V-4 appears to be a '65 75hp Evinrude. I also have a '67 75hp Johnson electric shift, with a bad lower... hopefully, I can make one out of both of them...

Wow nice score. Yeah if the solenoids check out you should be able to make one good one.

The 75hp Evinrude is a manual shift, so if the power head is no good I can mount the 75hp Johnson power head on the manual shift lower...I hope. Although, the '67 Johnson is a battery ignition, and the '65 75hp may be a magneto ignition...
