I bought this engine in 2010 as part of a Glasspar G3 restoration project. The project took longer than I anticipated, but I suppose that's not news to anyone but me. I ran the engine on a stand several times during the project. It always started quickly and idled nicely. I finally put my boat into the water on July 28th and it started right up with an even idle. I ran it around the lake for about 20 minutes just to see how it handled. When I went to dock, the engine stalled and I could not get it to restart. The starter spins, the engine cranks, it fires once but doesn't start. Trying it again, same result, no matter how many times I try it. Gas is fresh mid-range with Pennzoil 2 stroke mixed 32:1. I've just read 50:1 is now preferred and will adjust to it when I fill the second tank.
I'm wondering is the starter may be worn out, but this is the first starting difficulty I've experienced. For the 20 minutes I ran it, it purred at both half throttle and full throttle. Seems like running it would only make it easier to restart, all things considered.
I will appreciate any help/advice anyone can offer.
