TOPIC: Anyone ever use Dynamat on airbox?

Anyone ever use Dynamat on airbox? 9 years 1 month ago #116155

Has anyone ever used Dynamat sound deadeneing mat on the airbox on their motor. I wonder if it would quiet down my 1973 65HP Evinrude Triumph (since most of the noise supposedly comes from the reeds thru the carb throats - as I have read). It would be so easy to put a layer over the front of the airbox (maybe replace the foam inside the engine cover, too...?

Anyyone ever try this????

Nope, never tried it. Had to replace foam in the covers on a few engines, mice really like that stuff. That noise is just the sucking sound of money going into the cylinders, I can see why you want to quiet it down.

YES..
did my 60 Lark hood with it since the foam was gone
cut the engine noise by probably half
it had the "silent package" so the sound quality
was GREATLY improved.
and easy to work with too
