TOPIC: Electrical connectors for '59 35 hp

Electrical connectors for '59 35 hp 8 years 4 months ago #123474

My boat had no wiring harness so I'm trying to run wires to the motor connector. What kind of connectors do I use? It looks like I can use female bullet connectors on the small plugs, but I'm not sure how to connect to the starter plug.

Peter at NY marine has reproduced the connector and sells it complete with the harness, not cheap but it looks and fits right.

Thanks for the tip. I'm kind of hoping for a more budget friendly option.

I mounted a small solenoid under the cowling of my 57 35hp Johnson and ran a battery cable to the solenoid, solenoid to starter and the other cable to a good motor ground. Got ride of the solenoid box in the process. It's a cleaner install than factory.
