Just acquired a 2012 90hp etec with 50hrs on it and plan on installing on one of my Seafair Sedans. Is this a really difficult task due to the all electric nature of these new style motors or is it rather straight forward like any other old motor?

Suggestions appreciated.

Just a simple bolt on & hook up the 3 electrical connectors. You will need '96 and newer controls and a system check gauge or tach with the system check system built in and the warning horn.

Arggh Jack. I'm jealous. I keep checking Craigslist for a late model 90hp. Congrats!! Can't wait to see it.

I have all of the controls, tach & speedo with the computerized readouts. Its really complete. Will post a couple pics as soon as my son forwards them to me.

Dave the wife and I had to dedicate a full day to retrieving this jewel but it was worth the 480mi round trip. The boat is junk but the motor is a real peach and I really like the trailer also. May have it mounted by Tower Park but not rushing it.

I have a 90 Etec on my 1978 Olympic and it is awesome! It only uses a wiring harness so all you have to attach are the battery connections. It will winterize itself with a simple process using the shifter.

If you want to make sure it is set up correctly an authorized service center can hook it up to their computer and make sure the parameters are correct.
