Hi guys, I have a little 59 Bell Boy Banshee (weight is around 450lb I am told) and I also have a 1967 V4 Evinrude 60hp Sport four outboard (weighs in at 225lb) is the motor too heavy for the Banshee, I know the rating for the boat is max 70HP so that works, but just concerned about the weight on the transom and the "balance" of the boat in the water?
any advice greatly appreciated.

A 1959 Evinrude or Johnson 50 HP weighs in at 221 lbs, so you are probably within the design limits of the boat. If in operation you have trouble with performance, you might consider the location of weight inside the boat, such as moving the gas tank(s) to the bow or adding other weights near the bow.

Thanks Handy Andy
I did not have the figures for the early Evinrude,so that makes it a lot easier to spend money on a rebuild on what I have already, I figure that 4lbs is within acceptable tolerances.
and as you have mentioned I can move the load around if there are any distribution problems once under way.
