TOPIC: 1960 40 HP Upper Driveshaft Bushing

1960 40 HP Upper Driveshaft Bushing 5 years 4 months ago #140306

Got a 1960 40 hp Evinrude that has the upper driveshaft bushing in the lower unit, not the bearing. Is there supposed to be some clearance that you can turn the bushing by inserting your finger into it, or is it supposed to be snug? Need to know if I need a new one or not.

Bushing should be tight in the housing
