I installed an old tach that was on the shelf. It came off a '77 Evinrude 140hp. I put in in the dash and wired to a '76 Johnson 85hp. Ground, Ignition, and gray wire to send. I haven't run the motor since the install but wondering if the settings on the tach would be the same for the two motors. Nothing was changed so far.
The tach is a Teleflex. Dial on the back...3p-6c, 2p-4c, 4p-8c.
Should the dial be set for 2p-4c?
