I picked up a decent 6 gallon metal tank to use with my 85 hp Johnson. The tank is in good shape, the hose and primer bulb, not so much..

I went and bought a new 'kit' for West Marine, new hose, bulb and connectors. I also replaced all the gaskets under the tank housing connector/meter.

The new connector leaks like a sieve at the tank connector. I had an extra OEM used connector so I replaced the leaking one and, it works better, but still leaks. The end at the motor doesn't leak at all, just the tank side. If I open the tank the leak stops as a little pressure escapes. This is the single line type system.

What am I missing???

Thanks,

Kerry

If you are talking about the female connector then you probably just need a new o ring in it.
Once replaced always remember to use a dab of grease on the oring,
