TOPIC: Motor options

Motor options 14 years 1 month ago #17859

I was looking at two different motor options for my 16' 1969 Fiberform, a 1959 Evinrude 50hp in very good condition and a 1963 Evinrude 40hp Lark 5 in very good condition. I know the 50hp is a fuel hog but I don't know anything about the 40hp engine, would the 40hp push that boat pretty well or would I be better off with the 50hp engine.

Thanks

Id go with the Lark. Smaller, lighter, easier on fuel...and will likely push you along at the same speed or close to what the Fat 50 would!

That's what I was thinking, thanks for the input.
