TOPIC: Zephyr 4 Cylinder Outboard

Zephyr 4 Cylinder Outboard 13 years 8 months ago #27370

I have an old Zephyr 4 Cylinder Outboard that runs but I took it apart for cleaning and to see if any other rubber parts need replaced. There are a bunch of old rubber balls that are basically destroyed and I need some new ones and I'd like to also find parts to replace gaskets and water pump stuff. The motor does run. I just want to clean it up so I can use it.

Anyone know where I can get parts? Mostly those rubber balls.

Pete :)

The rubber balls are shock absorbers. Options would be finding new old stock replacements, finding equivalent rubber balls, or molding your own.

Some businesses specialize in NOS parts (Seaway Marine, Pine Lake Boat & Motor Co., and more), and some in reproduction parts (Art Dekalb, or Peter McDowell at North York Marine- www.nymarine.ca ).

To being your search, you will need part numbers from the parts manual for your motor. Check your email!

Go to the AOMCI site and post that question there. Those guys will help you locate sources of parts for your Zephyr

And I believe these had a metal impeller setup, no need to replace.

L.C. : Interesting pic, looks to be in nice shape.. I had one many many years ago. . Very quiet & can idle very very low for fisherman, or a longer shaft for sailboat.

. Last year I also noticed small balls on garage floor adjusting 1940 Elto.. Some sort of shaft tension assembly, got them all back in, maybe 5 or 6 .? Should be able to cross reference or modify something at the hardware store if one of the AOMCI guys dont have a parts motor.

The image is not of mine. It is just a reference to the model and what they look like. Mine is apart in a pile awaiting rubber balls. Crazy thing does start right up.
