Jokes aside, that has the same switch plate as my 58 Rocket has but a E " I guess for Evinrude" in the medallion rather than the logo Gale. I guess this was a standard plate?

That's the Universal OMC Plate - also available in Johnson
I've never seen the Gale version before - but I haven't seen everything by far :~)

I have bought some 20 boats from Rawhide and its a great place to find old boats. Plus what they do, helping young men change there lives for the better is a great thing too. Started By Barr Star and his wife they have helped so many so every boat or vehicle they sell helps another kids lead a productive life. As for this boat I have seen it in person and its really ruff but for $295 its a ok deal. They do have another Dorsett out there that never sold that is bigger like 17' with a Mark 78A on it too so if you need info on that contact me and I will hook you up with Paul from Rawhide. I have to go out there and pick up a boat in the next week.
