This morning I lifted the Power Cat 18DC in the garage and let it hang over the old trailer to load test the rigging while I adjusted the bunks on the brand new Shoreland'r 1722 trailer to be 50" apart center to center. Moved the tower back a little too. Pulled out the old trailer and backed the new trailer under the 18DC and set it down. Perfect fit! Sponsons sit well into the bunks until the last few feet. I tried rocking and pushing as hard as I could and it doesn't budge in there. Feel a LOT better running this on the road now. The old trailer just made me feel very unsafe. This boat is headed to the 1000 Islands Tues or Wed. On Friday we pull the Missile north too, and we're on the Island for 2 weeks. Lots of testing, rigging, finishing planned while at the docks and in the water. Can't wait. 23 months into this complete rebuild. Time for some fun!

Some people are like slinkies... Not much good for anything, but they sure are fun to push down the stairs.

Looks fantastic Brian! I'm assuming that bunk set up and bow stop were custom order, or was it set up stock for a pontoon boat?

Nothing custom. All stock for a pontoon boat.

Looks great Brian.

As always, your work is superb. Consider yourself a preservation specialist that is helping to see that these neat old boats will endure another 50 years or more. Most people don't realize that these boats were usually just cranked out quickly, and the rigging or equipment was tossed on by a dealer. Your version is a big improvement over the original. How cool that the sponsons fit a pontoon trailer!! Way better than the platform / deck trailers that are comon with cats these days. Good luck with the testing - I hope all those months of anticipation come together for you.

Sincere best wishes on the maiden voyage, Brian. The trailer worked out great, I've often wondered about a better way to trailer the cats, now I know! Hope you have a great vacation, I'm quite envious. (Two weeks off in a row, haven't done that in, well forever.) Enjoy sir, you've earned it. Just don't forget the camera, you know we're expecting pics. :P

Have to say, that is a Sweet looking package!

I think I just fell in love with PowerCats... the bow on shots suggest a terrificly wide beam - what a beauty indeed,

Enjoy, looks like you have restored to better than original - can't wait to see some on the water shots,

all best,

Matthew
