TOPIC: Motor control box at helm question

Motor control box at helm question 6 years 3 months ago #137472

I have been spending many hours routing and attaching cables and controls for my Bearcat. I dont quite understand the control lever function with the key in the run position I cant move the main lever to see if it works and the cable moves. I am thinking that the motor must be running before the safety switch will allow it to move.? with the motor not running but key is on to run position the red light is on. The lever doesn't move with the key off or battery disconnected although the small shift lever does function without power. So what is the answer?

Found my problem with the frozen lever. The shift cable is seized.

It does indeed. Cable is starting to move again with patient application of lubrication so I expect to save the cable.
