TOPIC: Boat hardware/stern light question

Boat hardware/stern light question 5 years 11 months ago #138620

Hello all! I got this stern light at an estate sale and haven't seen too many brass ones like this. My question is about the hardware that was in the little cloth bag attached to the pole. Can anyone tell me what they're for? It looks like the one with the split fits into the other one as it is hollow. Kind of like a male part and a female part. Doesn't look like any of it has been used.

Thanks for any input!
Scott

Plug-ins for the wiring for easy removal? Just a guess.

Hey Bill, I'm guessing you're right. If there were terminal ends on the wires from the light they would screw to those posts. The posts have the grooves to be inserted into a drilled hole to fit tight and the female parts would be the (-) (+) from the batt.
Great antique piece of hardware.
