Interesting and fun looking. Since these were around with outboards that often did not run deadman throttles and conventional set ups did not use kill switches, I am hopeful everyone was able to hang on and never get thrown. When I built my hydroplane with 20hp Mercury and was using conventional throttles, I had my older brother install and wire a tether kill switch that I could wear in case I was ever thrown out to protect the public and me too. I had witnessed a couple of distressed boaters in the water as their boat continued to circle them and saw the potential to get sliced up by a prop. Using a kill switch, deadman’s throttle, or more modern outboard with jet lower unit might add another level of safety. Just wanting everyone to be safe even when we enjoy our performance hobby.
