TOPIC: A good day in the Mercury Magic Shoppe

A good day in the Mercury Magic Shoppe 3 years 7 months ago #144447

Lots of days of troubleshooting can be pretty rough on the old girls, but today was a breath of fresh air.
A sweet 1965 Mercury 6HP, that started first pull after maintenance, and a visit from one of my full restorations for maintenance on a 1961 Reinell.
I wish everyday went this smoothly.

Nice when you have a day where you can go 2 steps forward and NO steps back!

wow, nice work on the engines! I posted something similar last night in the FB groups..."Its a satisfying Zen moment when you get clean, sharp lines! Working on a '62 Merc resto - engine wrap pictured"

one of those moments like yours that boat guys get when things go right...

It’s a beautiful thing.
Do an Old Merc right and she does you right.
All thanks to the genius of E.C. and Charlie.
Nice work Doc!

Thanks,
Terry

Boo-tee-full Reinell, classic look with 4-cyl Merc on the back. The black 6hp is just Mint.

Those stripes on the black cowling wrap look purty dang good! And the 'Yota is looking very Sharp with the nice paint job, and do I spy some Linux spray-on bedliner in there? I have that in my Frontier and it's held up very well over 15 years.

Am actually taking in a boat to work on tomorrow, believe it or not! Just an old, Evil JohnRude, though!!
