WW2 Aluminium speedboat identification 1 year 8 months ago #147883

//Sorry, just noticed it's not in the correct section due to smartphone page view

Hi everyone,
I'm new on this forum.

I just addes a small aluminium boat to my garage.
This is a sort of barn find in a workshop near an old WW2 airfield.

Cannot identify anything, but from the steering wheel i suppose it's an early 40s boat.
The steering wheel itself remind me P-38 lightning and some other bombers from that era (could be a proper yoke and custom built apparently).

No engine but some rumors from the father of the previous owner says it was a Mercedes.

Anyone can help me?
Thanks!
Alessandro

Welcome to Fiberglassics. I don't know what it is, but it is very cool!

I 2nd Doug's comments. That is certainly unique and appears to have amazing potential. If it did have a Mercedes in it, it makes even more intriguing.
