TOPIC: old site

old site 14 years 10 months ago #347

Is it possible to view the pics of owner's boats that were on the old site? I am particular interested in the Thunderbird owners pics.

We'll see if we can put that back. Give us some time for that.

I have a Thunderbird Semimole that I am restoring. It is a cathedral hull. I believe that it is somewhere between a 68 and 71 model (no HIN No). The Serial No. is SE96844. I have been told that the 96 could mean a 69 model. But, the 69 models that I have found on the internet are rated at 120 HP, but they do have the 96 in their Serial NO. My placard states that mine is rated at 160. I found one 70 model that is rated at 160 but could not get the Serial No. Would you mind comparing your Serial No. to see if the coding might be valid. Then again the Cheyenne may be different. Any help would be appreciated.

I am receiving a box with a red X in it. I click on it and I get a message that it can not be opened.

Some people are like slinkies... Not much good for anything, but they sure are fun to push down the stairs.

OK now "Y'all " are going to make me have to go to the hanger and take photos of the T-Bird that I have. It is a 1969 17 footer outboard. White on the lite yellow, It has the high hand rails It is also a cathedral hull, and it is rated for 160 Hp. When it was bought by my father (new)it had a 115 hp Evinrude. Later he installed a 135 hp Evinrude on the back...It did nothing but cause it to use more fuel

It is on my to do list...(after the Yellow Jacket).....Looking for a same year motor for it

Yours must be a Seminole also (17'). Does your Serial No. have 96 in it? Mine has the high bow rails also, but it does note have any yellow on it. Here are a few pics of it.

Allan,
Does your thunderbird look anything like mine? Yours is the first 69 that I have found with a 160 HP rating. Do you mind giving me your serial no.?

Will do, as soon as I can get out to the hanger. I am about 80% sure that it will take a 160 (not 100% sure) for when my father bought the 135 he talked about wanting the 150 but could not see the price diff

It does looks just like yours however with the yellow hull. If we have a weather break I will be heading to the hanger

Allen,
I do not want to be a pest, just wondering if you have had time to verify the HP rating of your 69 thunderbird? I also ask that you look at the serial no. to help verify my theory of the date code. All I need to know is if the numbers 96 or 07 appear in the number. I believe that the numbers could mean the 69 or 70 model years.
