TOPIC: newest addiiton to the fleet

Just picked up this 1960 Dorset Belmont.

It has most of the original parts and a few add on. Good runniong Evinrude 75 and a solid trailer with bubcaos. Deck and transom are solid and she is water tight.

She is lake ready but can use some attention to details after a low budget restore which included a paint over of the Dorsett emnblems and some sketchy patch work on the hull..

I beleive this is a sport model but I am not real sure what the difference is between this and the deluxe model. I do not beleive the seats to be original but the back to back seating was an option.

There are some parts missing/wrong that I will be replaving/changing. If any of you have any spares that fit this boat, I would love to hear from you..


The ones I have quickly identified are

1. Ornamental piece on bow cap??? - not sure what goes there.

2. Holes on the deck just forward fo the windshield - I assume a horm.

3. Did the chrome stern end caps have an insert in them?

4. Built in gas tank. I may hove one that will fit from another project boat.

5. Speedo does not work and is rusted out

For those that know this boat if there are anyother pieces you see missing please let me know.

Very nice boat.

I recently purchased a red 1962 Dorset Belmont very similar to yours. It has a new floor and transom, and the original 1962 45 Merc. I found it at an auction. I love the color and style of this boat.

This is the second Dorset I have purchased, the other one is a Lexington. The transom has a crack from two big a motor. I am using some of the trim parts on the Eldorado.

Lexington is available for free if someone wants to bring a trailer and I will help to move from one trailer to another.
